Who we are

Every Child Deserves Truth is a campaign for fairness and transparency in Irish family law. For data protection purposes, the campaign organiser is the data controller. Contact us using the details on our Contact page.

What we collect

• Followers / newsletter: your email address and (optionally) your name.
• Petition: your name, email and (optionally) county.
• Story submissions: your story and contact details. Contact details are kept private and never published.
• Contact form: your name, email and message.
• Donations: handled by Stripe; we do not store your card details.
• Analytics: privacy-friendly, aggregated usage data — only after you accept cookies.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

• Consent — for marketing emails, publishing your story, and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legitimate interests — to respond to your messages and operate the campaign securely.

Publishing stories

We never publish a story automatically. Every submission is reviewed and anonymised before any publication, and only with your explicit consent. You can ask us to remove a published story at any time.

Sharing your data

We use trusted processors to run the campaign (e.g. email delivery, payment processing and hosting). Petition signatures may be presented, in aggregate or as submitted, to relevant public representatives as part of the petition’s stated purpose.

Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, then delete it.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise any right, contact us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect children’s personal data.
